Jane Craven was born and raised in North Carolina. Her poems have appeared or are forthcoming in The Beloit Poetry Journal, The Southern Humanities Review, Tar River Poetry, DMQ, Atlanta Review, and Salamander among other journals. She is the recipient of a Universities and Colleges Academy of American Poets prize, winner of The MacGuffin Poet Hunt, the Cloudbank Poetry Prize, and Jacar Press Full-Length Book Award.

Jane holds a B.A. in English from UNC-Chapel Hill and an M.F.A. in Creative Writing-Poetry from North Carolina State University. She has worked in information technology for a telecommunications company and as the director of a contemporary art museum.

She is the winner of the Vern Rutsala Poetry Prize for her collection, My Bright Last Country, which was published in 2020 by Cloudbank Books. Her newest book, Radiant City, was published by Jacar Press in 2023.
